The Gift Of Time

June 3, 2013

Earlier today my husband gave me one of his watches to use for work. I am a personal trainer and I prefer to use a stop watch with my clients versus counting repetitions of any particular exercise. I find when clients work for time it gives each person freedom to decide how hard they are going to push themselves. After all, I am their structure and motivator, but the best and deepest motivation to succeed must come from within. In all of life we must decide if we will push Continue reading

You C.A.N.

June 1, 2013

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

The past month has been full of "long days".  Almost every day has left me feeling completely spent. Though my days are always jam packed, the springtime is always faithful to bring a heightened sense of everything. In fact, come March of each year I start to mentally prepare myself for the next few months. With this said, I come to you late in Continue reading

A Reason to Give

Last Dance

May 12, 2013

It is the last dance, the last chance to whirl and spin with glee. The song will end, the lights were dimmed, but will brighten again as the party comes to an end.

All of life is a celebration, a chance to dance about with freedom of expression that is the true you trying to get out. Break free from the things that haunt you and entangle, restrictively telling you what to do, who to be, when you only want to be free to be who the Creator made Continue reading

Island in the Sea

May 5, 2013

I am like an island, tangled with the sea.

You, my God, are like a Tree of Splendor planted deep inside of me.

Though all alone and sometimes feeling far from human reach

You managed to plant your Love with spreading roots preserving my days and guarding my ways.

You began to grow your branch and leaves to create a covering to shade me and protect me,

A Canopy of Grace placed about me ever so delicately.

Though I cannot see your face I feel you close to my heart.

I am like an island, floating in Continue reading

About Me

Hello!

My name is Nicole and the Broken and Unspoken things have fueled my wings and given me something brave, something bold. I do believe as we persevere through the unspoken difficulties in life we can find our voice and that voice can be used to help others take flight. I’m a lover of the pen and the ink I wield I hope lavishes encouragement on the minds, hearts and souls of others. Welcome to my home! I plan to use the space to make you feel comfortable, refreshed and blessed. My encouragement intended to help you find that better version of you that has been there all along. I am a writer of prose, poems, scriptural exhortations and all things fitness and nutrition. Mind. Body. Heart. Soul. It is all connected! So come in and make yourself at home. This is a Safe Haven and Refuge for others who have been broken, too.
