Just One Smile

December 10, 2012

“I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.”

3 John 1:13-14

I mentioned in my previous writings about how I am not only a people watcher, but I am a noticer of people. What does it mean to be a noticer? Andy Andrews wrote an entire book devoted to this topic, simply titled, “The Noticer.”  I understand that all people are different and noticing may not come natural Continue reading

A Man Without A Home

December 5, 2012

I was driving home this morning from dropping my children off at school. I pulled up to the light, stopping, as it turned red. I looked up to see a man crossing the street directly in front of me, in the cross walk. He was older, but I suspect his well-worn and weary face was not an accurate description of his actual age. He had deep lines and creases upon his face and his eyes were tired. He wore dirty clothing and a hooded sweatshirt that covered his head from Continue reading

Moving Out!

Well…I guess that’s it. It is time.

I knew it was coming…

I saw the signs.

I don’t really have a Continue reading

Each day it grows closer to Christmas. As it does, my thoughts not only go to my Lord, but also to his mother, Mary. I do not personally believe Mary to be deity, but I do believe she to be of the most esteemed people to ever walk the earth. I hold her and her story in the highest of regard and I think of her example to all of us, not only at Christmas, but all year through. Many times, when I have to take up my Cross and Continue reading

I Dared To Ditch Sugar

November 27, 2012

It has often been quoted, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” Isn’t it true that when you have a large task at hand, it can become cumbersome and overwhelming to think of what is to be accomplished.  We become paralyzed with the notion of it, whatever the task may be, if we allow it. Once we become overwhelmed we become immobilized and ineffective…defeated by a task too grand to conquer. The best way to prevent those overwhelming feelings and doubts of accomplishment is to break Continue reading

I plan to use the space to make you feel comfortable, refreshed and blessed. My encouragement intended to help you find that better version of you that has been there all along. I am a writer of prose, poems, scriptural exhortations and all things fitness and nutrition. Mind. Body. Heart. Soul. It is all connected! So come in and make yourself at home. This is a Safe Haven and Refuge for others who have been broken, too.
