Elephants Can Be Tasty

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Hold then, firmly, to the Truth and reject condemnation. When we hear convicting Truth, Satan will try and make you feel guilty, like you haven’t measured up. He will heap insults in your own mind and try to make you doubt your own worth, value or ability. This is all a lie from Satan, who is trying to deceive you from receiving what God wants to reveal to you.

Reject the guilt, hold firmly to the Truth.

Life is a Journey and we grow as a child of God, into a greater reflection of His Image in phases, day by day. If we were to grow leaps and bounds, exponentially as though it happened over night, it would be far too painful. God is too kind, too merciful, too compassionate to give us more than we can bear at any given time. He meets us right where we are at, each individual, and He lovingly directs us, refines us, and uses His Word, His Holy Spirit, situations, circumstances and others around us to direct us toward His Amazing Guiding Light.

There is an old saying that goes, “How do you eat an elephant?”

The answer, “One bite at a time.”

What does this old idiom mean? It actually has nothing to do with elephants at all. It means when a task, trouble or struggle seems too big, too ominous you need to stop looking at the size of the task and break it down into small and manageable increments. Anything can overwhelm, but when we take every day as they come, knowing full well that God is measuring your Desire to be more like Him and if He knows you are honestly trying, He is more than pleased. Could you imagine on the day of your Salvation Jesus giving you a Diploma and saying, "Congratulations, now from this day forward, you will look exactly like me, talk exactly like me and walk, exactly like me...no exceptions." Not at all! If that were so it would defeat the entire purpose for the Cross! He knows we aren’t perfect or flawless. We will never stop making mistakes because we are human and failed by Adam’s original sin. It’s ok. So embrace all the Teacher has for you each and every day. You are a winner in His book. He made you and is very proud of all the Creative Wonder and Ability He has established in you. When you feel discouraged, or hard on yourself, remember my words. You are beautiful through and through and Jesus just can't take his eyes off of you...

You are a part of His Triumphant Bride!

When feelings of guilt overwhelm you, rebuke it and send it on it’s way. Guilt is no respecter of persons. It will attack you for any reason if guilt is an area of struggle for you. The student may feel guilty for not studying harder for their exam. The parent may feel guilty for not being able to get that just right gift for their child. The employer may feel guilty when they have to let a valued employee go. You get the idea.

Guilt is a Spirit. Call it out by name. No weapon formed against you shall prevail. God’s got you covered. Be encouraged, fully equipped and ready for this day! You are capable of all things Amazing!

I Believe in you, but more importantly, God believes in you!
