Preserved
Self preservation: by my definition is to shield or safe guard oneself from actual or perceived harm. Self preservation is innate. Or is it learned? Young children arrive as tender hearted, trusting, naive and innocent. Over time the cares of life opens the eyes and awakens the soul to the dangers we encounter on life’s open road. The more harm done to an individual the more coarse their heart and mind become. The more scars, the more distant and closed to people we become—we self preserve to ward off future potential

Connected
God is so enormously unique.
My entire life has been full of rules. And in the midst of all the rules and all of my compliance, God swooped in on my heart and showed me his love and that it is ultimately not about rules (though he does have some).
And by his love he ruled, schooled and won my heart.
He gave me a connection with him like none other. He is the line I am connected to.
My entire life I have gone—on and off—to church, but never truly felt I fit

Game of Life
Everything happens in seasons.
I remember there was a season of my life that I had three children playing in Morada Little League simultaneously. The most sensational little league ever in my opinion, but not two of them on the same team. Two boys and my daughter played softball. The home field was just around the block from our home. But softball travelled much so my daughter’s games were all over the place. I remember I would begin to mentally prepare for the schedule and time demand of the

Intentional Living
The New Year will be here before you know it with many making a New Year’s Resolution to get fit. Intentions are good and motivation high, for a while. Before you know it, usually by the end of week two, the cares of life distract your desire and you’ve given up on that goal. But if you stick it through, doing a little bit of good every day then you will gain momentum to carry you through. You will begin to see results and the good fruit of your efforts

Tender Shoots➖ Glorious Roots
Heaven Made~
I have been given an invitation to write.
The writing comes from somewhere deep inside of me.
I am like an evergreen tree.
I do not wither or wilt.
Despite storms of life or scorching heat–
The moisture still comes to me,
Keeping my leaves green, my bark tough, thick, resilient, yet ever soft to the touch because of the water I drink.
Living Water is what touches my frame.
My roots are like shoots that tangle and thread beneath the ground that I tread.
Fingers in the garden searching for more, they burrow beneath the soil where

What makes a wine good?
I have a friend who is a wine maker. Wine making is her passion and she opened up a winery to turn her passion into the reality of a dream. So I’ve learned just a little bit (just a little bit) about wine making from her.
There is a lot of art mixed with ingredient, science and heart to wine making. It is a process, but it is delicious for every wine connoisseur who tastes the final product. Just the right blend makes something beautiful, tasteful and

Sculpted
I used to make it a morning practice to drop the family at school and then my youngest stayed with me as he hadn’t begun school yet, and we go to the track and run some sprints before my morning clients. I’m recalling a day similar to this several years ago—-
On this particular day, around noon, we returned to my husband’s office which is adjacent to the track I’ve been using. My son looks toward the sky then replies,
“The sun doesn’t look like that when we run sprints.”
I smiled inwardly

It All Ties Together
REST in the Arms of the Almighty.
At the end of the day you can rest when you know you’ve given your best and can trust God with the particulars of world order and personal progress and provision. Learn to say no to some things so you can say yes to others. There are demands for our time and attention everywhere. Be intentional about rest!
EXERCISE your freedom to choose to be kind, generous, and willing to discipline yourself in right living. Take up hobbies that refresh your soul. Do charitable work

Intimacy With Greater Things
None of Jobs friends really understood what Job was going through. They had no personal experience the same as his. Though they cared about him, they failed to know how to properly care for him. So they had to idly sit by and watch him.
“Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” Proverbs 3:25-26
Job had a story in the Bible like none other. Despite his long
