Faith Over Fallacy

“Your life will go in the direction of your most dominant thoughts”

I have an acquaintance in business who does a lot of public speaking. I heard her speak on thoughts a few years back and these words were so good, so pure, so true, it stuck with me.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7

When I was in my twenties and problems in my life would arise I would become perplexed to the point of sleepiness. But God, in all of His ever Kindness to me, dropped the idea in my heart to learn a verse about anxiety and speak it over myself out loud. I figured even if I struggled to believe it, if I heard it enough times in my head, it just might sink it’s way down into my heart. I give God all the credit because not only did it work, no one taught me to do this. I had no spiritual mentor or core of deep thinking Bible thumpers. God alone leaned an idea in me that proved true valiantly. His Love Rescues. But my freedom was voice activated. Sometimes we must rise up and use our voice for our own benefit and we also use it for others who cannot speak for themselves. There isn’t another voice on the planet like yours.

No one else uses the exact tone or inflection as you. No one has a heart to measure and project the same love and power from your voice as you. It is your voice. God gave it to you.

You must find it.

You must own it.

And you must use it!

Part of knowing how to use your voice is to first discover who you are in Christ. You must realize who you and to Whom you belong to. Your true Identity is locked inside both your physical DNA  as well as your spiritual DNA.

I am fascinated by science. I don’t love science, but I am fascinated by the human body and how it performs, how it works, how it knows what to do down to the cellular level and how to maximize its potential. Human performance. Because of this I always loved classes in school like biology, physiology and most favorite of any of my college classes, genetics. But deep science and all of those chemical calculations don’t come naturally to me. I am not a huge fan of math or chemistry. So even though I love those topics and I have a lot of education in them, it’s not in my DNA to have become a Chemist or Bio Engineer. I know my DNA that way.

But just as we know what maybe we aren’t, we need to be even more excited and focused on who and what we are! It doesn’t matter what others think. It doesn’t matter the terrain or the difficulty—God knows who you are and the mighty things He has done to pave a way for everything your life and voice are purposed for. Let’s take a quick look at Rahab.

The world looked at Rahab and saw a Scarlet Letter. She was a prostitute who lived in the outer  wall of the city. When the spies of Israel came to explore, she helped them. She hid them and she covered them for their crimes! I find it interesting that she used a red scarf to pull them in. The world had placed one definition of red upon her, but Christ covered her with His. Red being the symbolism of His bloods redemption. You are never beyond the Love, Grace and Redemption of Christ. And the willingness to accept her help by the spies lead her into salvation faith as seen in the later portion of Joshua 2:11:

“When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.”

God has a plan even when we don’t understand— He is in charge of it all. All sin. All fall short of the glory of God. The Word says we have a form of Godliness but we continually deny its Power. Are you going to trust in Faith or Fallacy?

Today is the day to possess a courage like that of Rahab. You are not defined by your sin. You are not held captive by circumstances around you. Cast it in the Sea of Forgetfulness. Be bold in Faith! God bears no shame on you so don’t shame yourself or accept shame from others. Shame is not your garment. Rahab made for herself a new garment of leaves she had dried on her roof. This day dress yourself in a garment of praise and allow God use you in incredible and courageous way.

Despite my battle with fear and anxiety, God uses me to live by risk taking faith almost every single day. Only God could do that! It all happened when I decided to take off a garment of fear and speak His Scriptures so dear over my own life.

Be blessed today and know the God of Heaven looks down over with a Song of Praise in His heart! He knows the good thing He has made! ~Nicole
