Invested

As parents we must invest tremendously into our child as an infant. They are completely dependent on us. As they grow, so does their ability to move and do for themselves. By the time they are teens we have hopefully done our part to lay a firm foundation of character, integrity and stability that will serve them their whole life. Teen years and beyond our role in their life begins to change. We become more of a Coach and Champion of Counsel, if you will.

It is hard to release them as they grow, but it is a glorious reward to see their lives thrive, their wings expand and take command of their own path.

The same is true with mentoring. At first we invest heavily. We pour out endlessly. But as they grow-just as our children-we begin to let go. They won't need us so much anymore. This is such a beautiful and bitter sweet reward that offers the soul Peace and Delight.

As the Body of Christ we invest in each other as we would our own children, as Christ did for us.
Be invested. ~Nicole
