The River Flows

“The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
    and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring  whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11

Even when...

Even when we face detours.

Even when we experience set back.

Even when we are forced into isolation.

Even when we are unjustly accused.

Even when you endure abuse (physical, emotional or spiritual).

Even when we face a diagnosis that shocks us.

Even when we lose a loved one prematurely.

Even when your family members are behaving squirrelly.

Even when you are discouraged.

Even when you mourn and don’t know why things turned out as they have.

God is there.

And when God is there you can release every care. Because when God is there everything around you can be stark, barren and more than just a little bit wanting, yet—the River Flows.

The River Flows

The River is the Holy Spirit who gives wise counsel, guidance, encouragement and comfort to you. The Holy Spirit will prophesy to your soul.

“…the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.” 1 Corinthians 14:3

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.” 1 Corinthians 14:1

The Holy Spirit will water you like an incredible garden (because you are an incredible garden), and you will be saturated in Love. You will be consumed with encouragement. He will drown out discouragement and every weighty thing holding you down. You will be light from the inside out. You will have joy—even when you have no natural reason to have it. You will be supernatural because the supernatural one dwells and thrives within you.

God is like a Great Compass.

He is navigating every step of the way. He is your road map and knows the path you take even better than you know it yourself. He has travelled it with you, even before you were aware of his presence and guidance.

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Romans 8:14

The Lord is guiding you always. Here’s how:

  1. He will use the Bible, so read it, study it, metitate on it.
  2. He will use others, so pray for discernment of what to receive and what not to receive from others—for all counsel isn’t wise and even sometimes counsel isn’t bad, but not from God because it is not pure of personal motive.
  3. He will use the Holy Spirit inside of you. That still quiet voice that speaks to your soul. You ability to recognize it and understand it will grow with time and experience and the study of the gospel and spend time in prayer and praise.

God will get you through the worse for the better.
Your better is on it’s way, so don’t you dare give up!

Don’t give up, just like the one who never gave up on you. Ask God to give you a glimpse of whats coming to you through the shadow into the Light, at the end of night, something sweet, something special, something pure. God has eyes to spot a diamond in the rough, so go ahead and allow the brilliant shine to grab hold of your soul and heal you. Head to toe, inside and out. You are something special heaven finds worth talking about.
