What’s Your Type?

Just breathe. Just relax. Rest. Don’t you know proper rest is essential for proper recovery and immune health? All statements you may have heard before.

Our Parasympathetic Nervous System is our bodies way of regulating involuntary activities. It is a part of the Autonomic Nervous System and it tells our body what to do without our having to think about it. It just happens automatically. It says such things as “rest-and-digest" or "feed and breed". This is because it is the system that tells us to relax and take it easy and it is also the system that stimulates sexual arousal.

The other part of the Autonomic System is the Sympathetic Nervous System. This system tells us to do the opposite. It’s a sort of “fight or flight” system.

Did you know that each individual can be prone to dependence on one or the other? It’s true. Individuals who have an ectomorphic body type (type I) tend to be more Sympathetic NS dependent giving them a long linear frame and ability to burn body fat and calories extremely well, sometimes too well. Endomorphic body types (type O) tend to store body fat, be more sedentary and struggle with a constant desire for food. These individuals tend to be Parasympathetic System (PNS) dominant. Those mesomorph (type V) body types tend to balance in the middle of the two systems and tend to posses a muscular frame and athletic build.

So have you determined which type you are?

We all have a type we wish we had or are drawn to. We all fit into one of these categories of types of body structures. But can I draw your attention to something deeper this morning?

Did you know you are God’s type?

We live in a world that is ever increasing in shallow and superficial focus and desires. We somewhere along the way strayed away from deeper things, stronger faith, healthy self image (because we weren’t all that entirely focused on our image to begin with). We once had plain and humble confidence in a Creator who created us to add value to the world around us, demonstrate gratitude and confidence in knowing all of life, well it isn’t about you, and that’s a good thing. How empty would life truly be if we knew we were only here for ourselves? I don’t know how many would truly enjoy lasting joy and edification with that sort of reality. Material success can be accomplished in this manner, but I’m not so sure the inside a heart of a man or woman could ever be content with this. There would always be a need for more. There would always be a lack of satisfaction.

So with all of that—don’t forget. God created you.

Heaven selected every detail about you, whether you are content with it or not. He likes the shape of your eyes, your body size and shape, your smile, your laugh and He cares about every aspect of you—even whether or not you can dance! He likes it all, every detail about you right down to every cell and system in your body. He designed you with great detail.

So if our bodies have such intricate design, don’t you think there was in fact a higher power who designed it? Seems all a little to advanced to be by chance, wouldn’t you agree? I know it takes faith to believe in God. But He believes in you after all. I am praying today He gives you an ounce of proof to prove to you how genuine His Love is for you. Trust me, an ounce of Him is all it will take for your heart to agree. That’s how rich and satisfying His Love truly is.

So whatever your type, even type O who may be on a diet right now, eat and drink deeply of Faith. It will satisfy and satiate, and man, you will feel great!

I pray Bold and Bountiful blessings over you today!
