Purity and a Bunny
Several years ago my kids came running toward me from the back field with a very young rabbit in their arms. They were so excited to show me what they had found. After asking a series of questions it seemed the only answer I could find was that maybe it had just been driven out to the country and dumped…finding its way into our yard and our life. I didn’t want it to be eaten by a hawk so we decided to keep it and make it a pet. This

The more conditioned you are the more you can endure.
I see this in my training and the training I provide for my clients. The adversity a workout can bring has prolific and far reaching benefits. Same it true for an athlete. You know what it is to press through pain and discomfort. You know how to focus your mind and stay on task and press toward your objective–whether it’s a finish line or fitness goals or even just the end of the workout! You find satisfaction in perseverance. The ability

Be the Light…
Last weekend our power went out. So what did my boys do?…Each went for the light on their phone or a flashlight. The power was out for a good hour or more and they laughed and giggled and played on the floor. I thanked the Lord for this short lived inconvenience. It gave them time together they probably really needed. But oh how we all celebrated when the lights came back on–we hadn’t eaten and I needed to cook dinner!
There isn’t a soul under heaven that does not

Stamina
I love the story of Secretariat. I’ve written about him before. Many rich analogies that can be drawn for life in this immortalized race horse.
Secretariat was a Champion thoroughbred, but at the start he wasn’t looked upon as the champion stallion he was. The owner was even discouraged from investing any time or effort into him. But she saw something in this creature that no one else did. She LOVED him, groomed him and prepared him to race. She enjoyed every step he would take. Then, when it was time

Sure to Endure…
Exhortation…
A Word of Encouragement to grab hold of today:
Beloved…I know what the Lord is up to. He is equipping you for your Calling. He is building stamina, fortitude, and the ability to dig deep and keep going. You already have all of these virtues…but he is molding you to a new level of abundance in each. I am so excited for you!!! I will pray you through…but get excited, God must have amazing and wonderful plans for you!
God sees and knows every detail of the struggles you are going through.

Starting Block of Life
Perseverance…
Saturday I attended my son’s first track meet, ever. It was getting close to his first event so John and I made our way to the fencing around the track right at the starting blocks. As we waited we watched a girls relay begin. The young ladies were getting their blocks in the correct lane position and adjusting the feet to meet their comfort for a good push off. One young lady, just in front of us, didn’t know what to do. She was working and trying, but her blocks

Visible Love
I think everyone has relationship goals of one sort or another. One of my goals for as long as I can remember is this…
I want to love my each of my children as though they were my favorite. I want each child to feel so loved they don’t question my love for them in comparison to a sibling. This, for any parent, is such a delicate, patient and time focused goal. There will always be times when one child gets more of time, energy/attention or money, but the key is

Grow Yourself…
Over the years I have been extraordinarily blessed with amazing leadership and field training via my home business of AdvoCare. God brought this little Dallas based company into our lives when it was merely 3 years old. We fell in love with the products–we are believers in proper supplementation (always have been) and have used many products and read much research over the years. John and I both have a background laced with nutrition science education. This is our niche. So when we experienced AdvoCare for the first time it

More Than A Canteloupe…
Many, MANY, years ago I was involved in a women’s group at my church. On one occasion I was asked to help prepare a meal for a small event this group was hosting. Each lady had something she was to bring and then someone specific was preparing all the chicken for the entrees. I was asked, in addition to several other ladies, to bring two peeled and sliced cantaloupe melons. I agreed, and as I sliced I was very careful to sure to do it right.
I had been raised with
