2014 in review
My pen is my sword- a gift given me by My LORD. I plan to continue to use it for HIM. Blessed, honored and humbled by my continued growth. Thank you for reading and trusting me to fill your heart. ~Nicole
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.
Here's an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,100 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 18 trips to carry that many people.

Give and Take
In 2001 my heart grieved as a mentor who greatly impacted my life passed prematurely. Yet, the mark he left on my life still remains. Within a week of his passing a dear friend who walked through terminal disease received a miraculous life saving double lung transplant.
God gave and God took away.
Both lives still impact me today. This Christmas time I’ve been crying empathetic tears for friends who lost a loved one to the grave. Yet, several I know announced a baby on the way or introduced a child into

You're As Good As #1
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” Luke 12:48
My husband has been coaching young athletes at all levels since the 1980’s. He is very good at what he does. He is an extractor of the amazing in human potential. He can spot raw ability and all it’s potential and help a person develop into something even beyond what the individual knew was possible for themselves. He is a hard coach. He expects

Tear It Off!
“Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.” Mark 2:4
God is looking for people who are willing to work around the crowd to get to His feet. When we decide we desire to live a fully surrendered life we begin the process of complete death of the flesh. The flesh is anything that holds us back from complete and absolute obedience to God’s

Glorious Bloom
“I am the True Vine, and my Father is the vine dresser.” John 15:5
The heart of Man is like a garden. We all have weeds, but we all have beautiful foliage and flowers as well. I love gardens and always appreciate my neighbors yards when I am out on a walk. As you walk down the street a yard might look a certain way from a far, but the closer you get, the more detail you see. You can see more weeds, but also, you can see all the beautiful

Impossible?
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
“NOT POSSIBLE!”
…That’s what they said when “that carpenter” declared to be the Messiah. And wasn’t he of illegitimate birth? But He died and rose again. “Not possible” is also what they said in the early 1900’s about the possibility of breaking a four minute mile. The medical knowledge of the day actually suggested that the strain of such a feet would kill a person by overloading the bodies ability. This, however, did not stop

Attitude!
Your attitude will always be the primary predictor of your latitude.
All people are basically the same with subtle differences. Differences in temperament, upbringing, environment and abilities. But one key ingredient will be found in the life of anyone who is destined to succeed…a positive attitude. Attitude is always decided in the heart and becomes an outward manifestation of the internal spiritual man/woman. An inner positive mindset and self-image is different from knowing social graces and putting on a happy face. Our inner self always comes out, usually under duress or

Devotion: Just Because…
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” James 1:6
Do you struggle with doubt? Some are clear and decided by nature while others second guess every thought, action, decision they have. Whatever your temperament, you can rest assured in how much God loves you. God doesn’t love like we do, His love never dies…it is eternal. Because His love is eternal he carries a different mindset than we do. He is

Devotion: Divine Protection
“Continuing steadfastly in prayer.” Romans 12:12
Yesterday I felt the leaning on my heart of God. I had a full day and something inside me kept inclining me to want to ask a neighbor to get my middle school boys from school and I’d just get my high schooler who needs to be picked up later. But I didn’t do it. There I was, sitting at a stop sign intersecting a busy street with boys in tow, when a small car takes the corner at a very high speed and t-bones

Devotion: Anchor Your Heart
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19
Do you know how valuable you are?
Ships have anchors. Anchors serve a purpose…they hold the boat in place. An anchor can steady a ship out at sea during a tumultuous storm. An anchor can hold a boat in the bay of crystal blue serenity. An anchor provides safety, security and protects the owners investment in the vessel. It will also protect the lives of those in care to the vessel.
God desires you anchor your heart
