Serenity
“The Lord on high is Mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.” Psalm 93:4
I have a large family. I did not come from a large family so this has been a new experience for me. I grew up in a quiet home where everything was always in order, tidy, organized. I tend to be a quiet, soft spoken person. I’m not loud. But when you have five children, four of which are boys, it can get kind of crazy. I think we are

Details…
I was raised my a Mother who payed enormous attention to the details. Today, I recognize the merit to be found in this. Sometimes it takes a long time to truly get to know a person…and at times it takes even longer to get best acquainted with ourself.
Let’s look now to Rebekah of the Bible and discover what happened for a young woman who was focused on the humble details of life…
“So it was, when the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden nose ring, weighing half

Holy Cross
The high road is this way…
In my young married life–a season of the growth of my soul– I remember struggling with something and God helping me to learn to handle it. I remember having a dream of me carrying a cross just like Jesus did. Only I saw something in this dream that looked like a large hand reach down from the sky and gently pinch the large cross on my back as though it were only a stick and began to gently lift so the weight in my back

Friends Forever…
Yesterday, out of the blue, a name from my past erupted in my mind…
It was the name of a woman I knew many years ago. I didn’t know her well, but she was a customer of mine through my nutrition business. She lived here in my city and I’d visit her at her home a few times a month to deliver vitamins to her.
She was advanced in years and seasoned in life. She lived alone, though she had family, none in town. She was still working as a CNA nurse

It's Just Stuff!
It’s Just Stuff!
Last week I told the story of my carpet in my first home and how over time even my fancy vacuum/carpet shampooer couldn’t lift the spots. Go back and find it in my thread if you missed it.
The thing about cleaning a carpet is that you eventually have to do it again. The same is true for laundry, dusting, organizing/filing and gardening or yard work. You have to maintain what you have accomplished. Once you become decided about something it becomes easier to manage the decision over time.

Repairer of the Broken
“Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.”
Isaiah 58:12
When I was married I inherited a home my husband already owned and I also inherited a dog- all in addition to gaining a husband.
I’m not really much of a dog person or pet person for that matter, but this dog was a true sweetheart. She was a Rottweiler and had been the product

Be Brave…Run your own race.
My first female “shunning” happened at the age of 5. I was in kindergarten and it broke my heart. God was kind to me and that little girl eventually moved away and those memories began to fade. I’d like to say it was the only time I had females treat me like an outcast, but in fact, I would go on to experience this several more times. I became so insecure in female friendships, never knowing when I’d be “turned on”, that I subconsciously decided to

Run, Pray & Find Your Way
Everyone who knows me knows my passion for health, fitness and nutrition and their impact on quality of life. I know it was God who stirred this passion and purpose in me. I didn’t play a lot of sports growing up. I wasn’t on a bunch of teams. No cheesy photos of me in a uniform. I cheered throughout high school and swam one year on swim team to stay in shape. But this deep desire was in me to be well, eat well, do well. I had no outside

Jump!
Studies have been done using fleas. The fleas are placed in a jar and the lid is fastened. The fleas jump & jump & jump, but get no where. After a while they stop jumping. In fact, when the lid is removed, giving the fleas total freedom they still won’t jump out. I wonder what would happen if a new flea was introduced to the group? Would the other fleas laugh at him for daring to jump? Would they avoid him because he did things differently than them? I’m sure

Abundance Found…
I love the story of George Mueller. A minister who built huge orphanages and did many great things by Faith. He rarely had a resource, other than gratitude. As he thanked God for the need met, while still in need, then a miracle would happen. Imagine what America would look like if we all did this. We’d have abundance without ever becoming spoiled. Let not this season of gratefulness end with the last bite of pie. Thank God for the answer before it comes…as if you already held it in
