Hold your own today…
Elegantly.
You are a timeless classic.
There is nothing like simple elegance that carries itself with no need to impress. It just rests in who it is, Identity hemmed by a seamless garment.
“When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.”
John 19:23

I know it had to be an addiction,

In Process There Is Progress
I know this woman. . .
She used to reach out to me when I didn’t want to be reached out to. She was always inviting me, calling me, checking in on me. She’d on occasion do something enormously thoughtful.
Here’s the trouble, I’d been hurt so much by female relationships growing up that at some point in time I stopped letting them into my heart. I was kind. I was friendly. I was personable—but beyond that you weren’t going to get to know me, because I was also guarded beyond healthy

Splendid Place
Last night I had the most hysterical conversation with my youngest child as he tries to decide what decade I was born. Once we had it all sorted out he was quite surprised and informed we that the Toy Story movies weren’t even made yet when I was born!
He is in the early middle childhood years and it’s so fun to talk with him. How he got a large vocabulary and mind he has blows me away. It’s fun to watch their cognition change and develop with age. The complexity

Star Gaze
Tonight I ran into the market for just a couple items. It’s was late, the store would be closing, I only had about ten minutes…
I was able to fetch the items I needed, all two, and head to the registers. The store, which is usually quite busy during the day, was slow and lacking traffic because of the time of day it was. I moved in and out of the store quickly. As I climbed in my car I happened to look out the passenger side window, I happened to

Custom Fit
Cut from a different cloth…
I love textiles. I am particular about tapestry and textures. I touch everything. I love all forms of design. When I buy a new journal I don’t just observe the outward appearance. I open it up and touch it. I feel the texture of the paper as I glide a stroke of my hand across the page. All of it- a part of the experience of writing for me.
My favorite garments aren’t always my most beautiful articles of clothing in my wardrobe, but those

Live Your Dream
I dream (literal dreams)—
that become reality, for as long as I can remember…
I dream things, sometimes more than once, or I dream the same theme in a different dream sharing the same message. I have these dreams mostly in a series so the essence is fully communicated to me. Then I wait and watch. Over the span of my life I’ve seen my dreams happen the next day and other dreams I’ve had to journal on the page so I can reflect when I see it come to be. Often

A Story of Hope, Gentleness & Kindness
I remembered a story from when I went to get a pedicure/manicure a few years back. As I sat in my chair at the salon I watched this elderly couple come in together. I love to observe people. People are fascinating and peculiar and puzzling all at the same time and I truly adore humanity.
So this couple…
The wife was the one getting the manicure, but her husband escorted her in and took care of every detail. He spoke with the receptionist, he

Intimacy With Greater Things
None of Jobs friends really understood what Job was going through. They had no personal experience the same as his. Though they cared about him, they failed to know how to properly care for him. So they had to idly sit by and watch him.
“Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” Proverbs 3:25-26
Job had a story in the Bible like none other. Despite his long

Going Through
Have you ever been through something hard?
Of course you have, we all have. The only thing that differs is the experience of the hard (actual trial), the length of it, the shape of it and ultimately how we handle it.
Not everyone handles their hard well.
None of us feel we handle difficulties well, except maybe someone delusional. God looks at us all through a different lens. He knows the payoff our hard can bring if we cling to His Tree of Long Suffering.
Everything we go through in life has

Headlong & Strong: Go In Deep
Obedience to God produces a peculiar glory and builds a peculiar faith in a God who tends to delight to do things…peculiarly. I think He likes mystery. He likes to show off a bit. Not because He has an enlarged ego-but He could if He wanted- take a look at how successful He is at accomplishing what He purposes Himself toward. No, He likes to show off like a peacock attempting to woo a bride. He adores humanity and He desires to be adored by us all. He
