Head, Hand, and Heart
My pen is my friend…
It listens, not just to my head and my words, but also my to my heart. My pen listens and then it leans~
It scratches the surface of the page. There is nothing like the flow of hand on a page and writing it all out in script.
I often times don’t know what I’m going to write before I sit down to write it. Other times I have themes and small tokens of thought that drift in and out of my mind for several days or even

How I Quit My Soda Addiction
I just overheard my son say to a friend, “I like soda, but I hardly ever have it.”
Words that make a momma happy…words that now inspire the following post. What’s it about? Soda of course.
I used to be addicted to soda.
Diet Pepsi to be exact.
I didn’t grow up on soda—we next to never had it in the house. But I did grow up on Kool Aid and refined foods in all forms. If it wasn’t refined it was canned or frozen. If I wasn’t drinking Kool Aid it was iced

Grace that Overcomes.
There are few things in life quite like the glory of friendship.
My entire life I have more negative female experiences than positive ones. Perhaps this isn’t true, it is better to declare that I have had more than my fair share of the extreme in this department.
As a youth I was the “outsider” in my church youth group. At school I had girlfriends I hung around with, had common clubs or classes with, but it wasn’t uncommon for them to behave “uniquely” toward me. If not at first–eventually. But there

Unusual Faith
“As pressures and stress bear down on me, I find comfort in your commands.” Psalm 119:143
I am such a lover of the pen–Actual hand written script is my favorite expression. I’ve got journals full of it. Something fluid and magnificent happens inside of me as I become unlaced in His Presence. Writing has always forced my mind to slow down. It directs me to ponder as I listen to my Love. And as I hear Him speak I get to rehearse His gentle and kind words over again as they

This Is Where You Live…
Prayer is like home.
Prayer is like a comfy couch and a cozy throw blanket you can wrap up in.
Prayer is like special time set aside for you and your best friend.
Prayer is like a warmly drawn bath where you can lean back and relax between the arms of your Beloved.
Prayer is like a garment well woven of the finest materials.
Prayer never goes out of style.
Prayer never grows cold (from heavens perspective).
Prayer never gets old.
Quite the contrary, it rejuvenates and restores.
It is a perpetual Fountain and those who drink from it

Uncommon Bloom
“As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.”
Ben Hogan
I really think this quote is cute. I’m not a golfer (yet), but I’ve been a few times and I kind of think it’s a hobby I could learn and be challenged and enjoy. But for now it’s a someday thing because I’m in the thick of paying for kids schooling and sports and some other things I’m working on…
My Dad is a golfer. Has been for years.

Tantalized
God has shown me time and time again—
When we, when you, when I, when all of us face difficulty, opposition and the oppressive hands of every enemy of God—
We aren’t to ask “why?”
In the midst of trouble, we need to look around and see what kind of seeds on the ground can be found.
We can KNOW that God is cultivating.
He is fertilizing.
He is creating a move of His Glory that is tantalizing.
He is marinating and soaking His Goodness and Favor in a situation, in a foundation, in a person, in

Fit Life For Life!
I remember when my daughter was maybe 10, maybe a little younger…I had to explain to her why exercise was important to do even when you didn’t feel like doing it. Because she saw me consistent with it she assumed I always wanted to do it. I told her I didn’t always feel like working out. She seemed surprised. Then I walked her through a talk about our family health history.
When you know your history, you know what needs to happen to change the future so history doesn’t repeat.
Keep guiding

Meet Me In The Upper Room
Little can always become great in the Hands and Heart of God.
What is it your heart cries for?
What is it that your soul yearns for?
There is a wanderlust of soul the Holy One in Heaven has ignited and He is delighted to stir it and yield something more.
Whatever your day holds—
Be it grand and important with many hands dependent upon you, many minds, many mouths to. Or maybe it is you alone in your world you have to behold. God is in it. He is there with you now.
He is

After Glow
I am still basking in the after glow of my trip to Israel just a little more than a week ago.
The Lord has knit my heart with Zion.
Every night since our returning flight from Tel Aviv back to my homegrown California—I have had marvelous dreams of special things that I have only written down in my journal. Scripting my heart with actual paper and pen is the absolute best of the best for the flow of my soul. I love how I’m old fashion like that. God connects with it
